Brandywine, Red (Landis Valley) Heirloom Tomato
Brandywine, Red (Landis Valley) Heirloom Tomato
Our Price: $2.95

This old time legendary and very special strain of Red Brandywine is named for Brandywine Creek and comes from Chester County Pennsylvania where it originated in 1885. These big, vigorous vines produce 8 -12 ounce, deep bright-red round fruits in clusters of 4 to 6. Outstanding, prolific, robust, with intense tomato flavor which stands up to its legendary 100 year history. Among my favorites. (This is a different strain from regular Red Brandywine which is slightly larger, later and more ribbed.

Santiago-Heirloom Tomato
Santiago-Heirloom Tomato Seeds
Our Price: $3.95

Long time friend and gardener, Cooper Scollan, found these tomatoes at a farmers market at the base of 3 volcanoes in Guatemala. The farmer's family had grown Santiago tomatoes for several generations as the only tomato they grew. Cooper shared the seeds with me for my tomato trials. W e grew them out in several trials and were delighted with  the results. The tomato plants proved to be very large (one trial found them growing to 20') Santiago was among the first to bear fruit and one of the last of the season to be harvested. Plant produces a prolific amount of 8-10 oz., flattened, and lightly fluted, red beefsteak tomatoes that have a good tart and very pronounced sweet flavors. A very good canning tomato, and wonderful snacking fresh off the vine. This tomato variety seems to do very well in hot climates. A winner!
